Hiroyuki's site is at www.lsounds.net Captain Trip has released a new CD by Landfall, with Hiroyuki on drums. August Born is the name of a full-length collaboration by Hiro and Ben Chasny that has just been released by Drag City. A perfect matching of L and 6 Organs vibes. L and Friends appear on the new Alchemy/PSF 20th Anniversary compilation of live collaborative performances by their clearly insane stable of artists. Hiro was recently interviewed by the Foxy D crew. The Ghost CD/DVD recently released on Drag City features Usui-san on many of the audio and video tracks, shoplift it today!

Flying Saucer Attack
Nothing to report at this time.

Rake:
Rake World HQ: www.rake.info. Tons of downloads, etc. First Rake gig in 4 years (!!!) took place in August at 611 Florida, C broke out the Absinthe and a good time was had by all. Thanks, stoners!

Wingtip Sloat:
The group is working on some new recordings while the singles comp moves at the same old snail's pace. Update! I think we are close on the Singles comp - see, what happened is....well, it's a long story - the Half Past master tape was defective in a couple of spots, so I had to patch the noise from cassettes. When I asked the boys for the cassettes they used to compile it way back in 92, they gave me a box (a "Grabbers" dry wall nail box) FULL of tapes, some 4 track, some 2, none of them labelled worth a crap. Took me ages to go thru them. No one could find the master to "Leap Into My Velvet Arms" or "Read About Seymour." I had to have the reels for M31 and the Inner Ear demos transferred 3 times before someone could actually do the job (thanks Airshow - worth every penny), and so on and so on....Anyway, we're almost done. Update: A usable master for "Salt Rising Bread" has been located. A few more years and this jam will be done...

Sunroof!/Skullflower/Total:
Can't get away from MB these days, what with Hototogisu's endless stream of metal jamz. Their site promises a US tour for Oct 2005, watch out local beers! New Skullflower Orange Canyon Mind out on Crucial Blast. A forthcoming Music Fellowship dbl LP has a side of Sunroof! doing their thing.

Vibracathedral Orchestra:
VCO World HQ: www.vibracathedral.co.uk After 6 years of faithful service, Julian "JB" Bradley has left the group to pursue a career in the kabuki. Good luck JB! Here's an interview with NC. All the team is busy with their ELP-style solo projects, Neil's quite awesome Astral Social Club, Lord Flower with Sunroof! and team, Brigit's art show and films, etc. Important is releasing some sort of CD with VCO's rare Pop Supplement 7", their side from the Textile 12", etc. Should be good. The groop played the Terry Riley festival in Norway back in April, but no one was able to grow a long enough beard to really make the scene, keep reaching tho', boys!

Richard Youngs & Simon Wickham-Smith:
Richard on the cover of the Wire this month. Richard dropped in to Canada for a couple of gigs, including a set with the Brotherz E in Toronto where thety played a new arrangement of Advent! New solo LP/CD
The Naive Shaman out soon on JagJag. Jagjaguwar has reissued Advent. Simon's web site is at http://pages.eidosnet.co.uk/~qamutiik/index.html in case you want to get your chart done. S!!! Rapt CD out now on Disposable Thumb. Richard and Alex Neilsen played 3 gigs in Blighty with Jandek, which is admirable, but I'd rather hear them with (just for starters): Peter Hammill, Joni Mitchell, Larry Hagman, Neko Case, Barbara Manning, Hiroyuki Usui, John McLaughlin, um...hey - I should go make some calls right now!

Kawabata Makoto:
The AMT HQ Soul Collective web site is at www.acidmothers.com. Too much to possibly keep up with here.

Doldrums:
Nothing happening with the group, but the second Turing Machine CD is finally out.

Pelt/Black Twig Pickers/Jack Rose
Website of Pelt multi-media arm: Klang. Jack Rose on tour all over, see him any chance you get. Note that the part of the gigs that Jack enjoys most is the banter, so be sure to shout those requests out! Not during the music, of course. Jack has a side on the Eclipse triple LP comp, plus an exclusive tracks with issue 35 of the Ptolemaic Terrascope and issue 5 of Dream. Eclipse is also planning to release a Pelt double LP compiling rare and unreleased live material from 1998-2002. The groop is trying to get fall tour plans together, nothing settled yet.

The Double U:
Excellent new UU website at www.thedoubleu.com. Matt and Alex now in Portland, working on some new sides.

Sandra Bell:
Sandra is living in Berlin and playing around Germany and Eastern Europe. Contact her on sandrabellnz@yahoo.co.nz

From Quagmire:
The band's web site is at www.fromquagmire.com.
